Description

Lethrinops Intermedius is a species of fish that belongs to the Cichlidae family. The Lethrinops Intermedius cichlid, is native to Malawi, Mozambique, and Tanzania. This fish was initially called Lethrinops intermedius, and while it is a beautiful fish and popular among aquarium hobbyists, little is known about its behavior in its natural environment.

In the wild, they prefer shallow, warm water and can grow to be up to six inches long. Males develop bright colors, including iridescent green on the upper body and bright yellow on the lower body. The fins have bright pink tips, and the rest of the body is blue. Females are less colorful and stay dull for survival purposes. They are grey and brown and have three black spots around the fins. Females grow to be slightly larger than males.

The Lethrinops Intermedius cichlid is a peaceful fish and is compatible with other peaceful fish of similar size, including ulonocara, Copadichromis, the Haplochromis from lake Malawi and other Intermedius
