Flowerhorn

Description

The breeding of these spectacular South American Cichlids date back to 1993 in Malaysia and Taiwan when they started crossing the Trimac cichlid, Red Devil, and the Blood Parrot. These fish were prized for their Karoi, or protruding heads. The larger and more pronounced the nuchal hump the better and more prized the fish is.

These exotic fish have a life span of 10 years when taken care of properly. Water should be kept around 80 degrees and a pH of 7.4-8.0. The minimum tank size for a Flowerhorn is 55 gallons.

Live foods and frozen foods will help your Flowerhorn remain active and healthy.
