A family business with fish on the brain.
Josh and Lora Davis have run the farm together for 20 years. Their four children and a small crew help with the work; the spring system is still at its center.

Second generation
Josh started working here at five.
Childhood chores became husbandry, breeding, order fulfillment, and customer care.
Today Josh and his wife, Lora Davis, own and operate Live Fish Direct. They have worked side by side for 20 years, with help from their four children and the farm crew.
The owners remain close to the tanks and the shipping bench. When a customer emails about a fish or an order, the answer comes from someone responsible for what went into the box.

A shipping day can move from breeding groups and water flow to customer emails, weather maps, packing decisions, and the final overnight pickup.

At the farm
How the farm works
The springs are the reason a year-round tropical fish farm can exist here. The hatchery was built around moving water, breeding groups, and daily observation.
The work itself is practical: maintain breeding groups, watch appetite and behavior, notice standouts, sort young fish, and prepare each order for the weather and route ahead.

Fresh spring water replaces the water in each tank every few hours.

The arrival date, forecast, and destination shape each shipment.
Newly hatched
A newly hatched group at the farm.Fry are raised in groups, watched as they develop, and sorted long before any fish is listed for sale.
Away from the farm
Josh still spends his free time underwater.
Fish are both the work and the hobby. Josh dives in the western lake and, when he travels, looks for a chance to get underwater.
